There is no single toilet quantity that fits every event. Guest numbers are important, but event duration, alcohol service, existing venue facilities, accessibility needs and servicing arrangements can all change the requirement.

Start with the expected attendance

Estimate the realistic peak number of guests, not only the number of invitations sent. If attendees arrive in waves, facilities must still cope with the busiest periods. Larger events should avoid relying on one unit even if the total number of toilets inside that unit appears sufficient on paper.

Consider how long people will be on site

A two-hour ceremony has different requirements from an all-day wedding, festival or corporate event. Longer events generally create more use and can require additional capacity or a servicing plan.

Alcohol can increase demand

Events where alcohol is served may see higher toilet usage. Build a margin into your planning instead of using the minimum possible number of facilities.

Use a mix of facilities

A premium event can combine VIP toilets with Portable Urinals and Portable Wash Basins. This can reduce queues and improve overall flow.

Include accessible sanitation

Where required, provide an accessible option such as the Accessible Mobile Toilet. Position it on an accessible route and confirm the real dimensions and entrance arrangement before the event.

Choose the right VIP models

For premium functions, compare the Presidential VIP Toilet, Large VIP Toilet and Medium VIP Toilet. Smaller events may be better served by Small or Single VIP Toilets.

Plan for queues, not just total capacity

Guests often use facilities at the same time: before a ceremony, during meal breaks or after entertainment finishes. Multiple smaller units positioned sensibly can sometimes manage queues better than one facility in a single location.

Use peak demand rather than guest totals alone

Two functions with the same attendance can have different toilet requirements. A short interval when almost everyone leaves a seated programme can create more queues than a longer open-air exhibition. Ask the organiser when guests are likely to use the facilities, how the programme is structured and whether food or refreshments are available.

  • Review existing permanent toilets and whether they will actually be accessible to guests.
  • Consider separate units or locations to reduce the distance and queue at a single facility.
  • Allow for inclusive access and hand-washing, not only the number of cubicles.
  • Arrange sufficient servicing, consumables and monitoring for the entire event duration.

There is no universal guest-to-toilet ratio that fits every event. Confirm venue-specific rules and any organiser, municipal or safety requirements with the appropriate responsible parties. Our site sells new sanitation equipment; it does not offer toilet hire. If you are buying a fleet, review the VIP event toilet selection guide and ask about current models and lead times.
